The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is a social security scheme, established by the government under the Employee Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act of 1952, for employees in India. This scheme mandates that employers with 20 or more employees must adhere to EPF regulations and secure PF registration. The EPF serves as the custodian of contributions made by both employees and employers, providing financial security and social protection to employees until their retirement.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is a statutory body established by the Government of India to manage the EPF under the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act of 1952. The EPFO Portal is the official government website providing comprehensive information about the Employees Provident Fund. The EPFO Unified Portal serves as a one-stop platform for both employers and employees to access a variety of services related to EPF, pensions, and other insurance schemes. Employees can log in to the EPF Member e-SEWA Portal or the UAN member portal using their Universal Account Number and password. This allows them to access various online services related to their provident fund account, such as checking and claiming their PF balance, downloading the EPF passbook, filing e-nominations, completing e-KYC, and more.
